Course Rules
21. Having received clearance you can descend to the
bottom of the MOA recovery layer - 8000 ft MSL if
Center has not specified an altitude in the clearance.
As you approach the boundary of Meridian 1 West:
Memphis Center:
“SHAD 135, Memphis Center,
contact Meridian Approach
frequency 276.4.
22. You select button 14 on the alternate radio
(continuing to monitor Center on other radio until
communications established with Approach Control).
Contact Meridian Approach:
“Meridian Approach, SHAD 135,
on a BRAVO recovery with KILO,
requesting overhead entry”
NMM Approach :
“Roger, SHAD 135, radar contact
9 miles north of BRAVO. Descend
to 3000 report field in sight”
23. You roger the clearance, level at 3000 ft MSL.
When you have the field in sight you call Approach:
“Meridian Approach, SHAD 135,
field in sight”
Meridian Approach:
“Roger Shad 135, radar
service terminated. Contact
BRAVO Tower on frequency
279.2”
24. Switch to button 16 descend to 2000 ft MSL, squawk
STDBY on the IFF and contact BRAVO Tower:
“Bravo Tower, SHAD 135, 3 mile
initial for the overhead runway 13”
BRAVO Tower:
“Roger SHAD, 135 report the
numbers”
