LECTURE NOTES
When VMC, terminate with departure and proceed
direct. Entering the MOA check in and maintain visual
and listening watch to stay clear of other aircraft while
transiting MOA to assigned area.
IUTs
- Familiarize yourself with all in-flight simulated emer-
gencies. Plan scenarios that challenge the student
and allow for smooth transition from one event task to
another but do not degrade safety of flight.
- Familiarize yourself with common in-flight malfunc-
tions and their secondary indications.

Transition to instrument scan
a.
Maintain level flight by referencing ADI
display
b.
Avoid vertigo by believing instruments
2.
Exit in safe and expeditious manner
a.
Make 180-degree heading change to
exit IMC if situation expected to last for
more than a few seconds
b.
Do not exceed 30 degrees AOB
