descent above desired altitude

Accels and decels 1.7.1.2.1
a.
Accelerate
(1) Advance power to MRT, verify
speed brakes retracted, and main-
tain altitude
(2) Trim as necessary
(3) Approximately 5 kts prior to reach-
ing desired airspeed, adjust power
(fuel flow) to appropriate setting
b.
Decelerate
(1) 25 kts or greater
(a) Reduce power to IDLE
(b) Extend speed brakes
NOTE: You can operate the
speed brakes throughout the
flight envelope without restric-
tions, but they will not fully
extend above 340 KIAS.
NOTE: Extension of speed
brakes will cause a pitchup
moment.
(c) Trim as necessary
(d) Retract speed brakes 5 kts
prior to desired airspeed
(e) Adjust power as necessary to
maintain desired airspeed
