Begin the maneuver
(1) At 380 KIAS

(2) On altitude
(3) On a prominent terrain feature or
section line for use as visual refer-
ence

Perform maneuver
(1) Advance power to approximately
96% rpm
(2) Perform first half of maneuver
same as loop
COMMON ERROR: Relaxing 4-g
back stick pressure during the
initial pullup, resulting in insuffi-
cient airspeed to complete the
maneuver.
COMMON ERROR: Failing to
scan out both sides to ensure
wings level after the horizon disap-
pears from the view ahead.
COMMON ERROR: Failing to
maintain optimum AOA over the
top resulting in insufficient air-
speed to complete the maneuver.
(3) Continue maneuver to inverted
attitude until nose is approximately
10 degrees above horizon. This is
when the canopy bow is on the
horizon
