Perform maneuver
(1) Bring nose 10-15 degrees above
horizon
(2) Reduce power to IDLE
(3) Roll aircraft inverted, using coordi-
nated ailerons and rudder, and
obtain optimum AOA
COMMON ERROR: Failing to pull
to optimum AOA after rolling
inverted.
(4) Pull nose down through horizon,
holding optimum AOA as airspeed
builds
(5) Maintain wings level throughout
maneuver (on section line)
(6) Pull to optimum AOA until inter-
cepting 4 g and hold for remainder
of maneuver
COMMON ERROR: Failing to
maintain 4 g for the remainder of
the maneuver.
(7) Complete maneuver with 180
degrees of heading change

NOTE: Airspeed and altitude should be
scanned during each segment of the ma-
neuver. Ensure a good lookout doctrine
throughout.
