Emphasize the importance of maintaining a good in-
side/outside scan during the performance of the
squirrel cage. Altitude loss could be significant if
proper attention to the instruments is not maintained.

Complete prestall and aerobatic check-
list
b.
Begin the maneuver at 380 KIAS,
approximately 12,000 ft AGL, lined up
on a prominent terrain feature or sec-
tion line
c.
Perform maneuver as one coordinated
series of four maneuvers without
pause
(1) Loop
(2) Half Cuban eight
(3) Immelmann
(4) Split-S
NOTE: All of the common errors previously
listed for each individual maneuver apply to
the squirrel cage.
NOTE: Maintain a lookout for traffic con-
flicts during the maneuvers.
