(3) Commence smooth roll toward 90-
degree reference point while
describing an arc around imagi-
nary 45-degree reference point
(4) Verify 90 degrees AOB at
45-degree heading change,
45 degrees of pitch
(5) Continue constant roll rate so
aircraft is inverted with wings level,
90 degrees off original heading, as
nose passes through horizon
COMMON ERROR: Flattening the
maneuver, resulting in excessive
airspeed in the inverted position.
COMMON ERROR: "Burying the
nose" past the 90-degree inverted
position due to decreasing roll
rate.
(6) Verify airspeed "over the top" is
approximately 170-190 KIAS
(7) Continue roll so nose passes
through 45-degree nosedown
position below imaginary
45-degree reference point with 90
degrees AOB
(8) Maintain constant nose movement
so as to roll out at 350 KIAS,
approximately at entry altitude and
on entry heading
COMMON ERROR: Not program-
ming the roll rate so as to arrive at
the original section line or roll-out
point.
