Familiarization Flight Procedures
T-45C TS, ADV & IUT FamFP-01
COMMON ERROR: Failing to
maintain optimum AOA throughout
the turn.
(3) Reverse AOB in opposite direction
(a) Use reference terrain feature
to begin reversal
(b) Release back stick pressure
during reversal to prevent
ballooning
(c) Use moderate rate of roll
during reversal to approxi-
mately 85 degrees AOB
(d) Reestablish AOA to 17 units
(e) Cross-check nose attitude to
maintain airspeed
(4) Maintain power at MRT, maintain
optimum AOA and entry airspeed,
and hold for a 360-degree turn
(5) Roll out of turn when nose of
aircraft reaches reference terrain
feature and reset power to main-
tain 300 KIAS
d.
Considerations
(1) Minimum radius turns do not
require you to maintain altitude,
you will lose altitude during the
maneuver
(2) Airspeed is directly related to nose
position
(a) If nose is too low with respect
to horizon, airspeed will in-
crease
