TACAN and VOR Procedures
(8) At 3 to 5 DME from FAF
(a) Gear down/speed brakes in
(b) Lower full flaps/slats (for other than full stop landings,
one-half flaps may be used)
(c) Adjust power and attitude to maintain altitude on speed AOA
or descend as necessary at 150 KIAS
(d) Complete landing checklist to "speed brake" prior to FAF
(e) Transition to on speed AOA approaching FAF

Final approach fix (FAF) to missed approach point (MAP)

Navigation procedure
(1) At FAF
(a) Start clock (VOR/DME)
(b) Speed breaks - FULL landing checklist complete
(c) Report FAF with gear down (ATC)
(2) At minimum descent altitude (MDA)
(a) Maintain course
(b) Maintain MDA
(c) Monitor DME and/or timing for MAP
COMMON ERROR: Scan breakdown resulting in poor
altitude or course control.
