TACAN and VOR Procedures
(6) Level off at minimum penetration altitude
(a) 1,000 ft above level off altitude (do not exceed minute to
live rule): decrease pitch by 50% and retract speed brakes
(b) At normal lead point (10% of the VSI): adjust nose attitude
and power for level flight at 250 KIAS
(7) When on an inbound bearing
(a) Perform a level speed change to 200 KIAS
-
Reduce power
-
Extend speed brakes (as required)
-
Adjust nose attitude to maintain altitude as airspeed
decreases to 200 KIAS
-
Descend as required
(b) Gear down/speed brakes in
(c) Lower full flaps/slats (for other than full stop landings, one-
half flaps may be used)
(d) Adjust power and attitude to maintain altitude at on speed
AOA or descend as necessary at 150 KIAS
(e) Complete landing checklist to "speed brake" prior to FAF
(f) Adjust power to maintain on-speed AOA
2.
FAF to MAP
NOTE: If the station is located at the field there is no FAF and the station
is the MAP. Transition to landing configuration wings level out of turn,
descend to MDA at on speed AOA and execute missed approach at
station passage. If the station is away from the field, station passage is
normally the FAF, and timing determines the MAP.
