(1) The student is inadequately prepared for the scheduled
event. A "Ready Room Down" is awarded when a student
demonstrates unsatisfactory knowledge during a brief. An ATF
shall be generated for all "Ready Room Downs" and at least one
item on the ATF shall be graded unsatisfactory. A missed brief
does not constitute a "Ready Room Down" and should be dealt with
using other disciplinary methods. Use a pink sheet to document a
missed brief by checking the bottom right hand box under Type
Action at the top of the form and placing "missed brief" in the
space provided, then administer counseling/discipline as required
by the squadron CO.
(2) The student fails an examination as discussed in
paragraph 403.
(3) The student is graded unsatisfactory for any curriculum
item during an event (regular curriculum flight, warm-up, extra
time, recheck, special progress check), where minimum accepted
curriculum performance standards are not achieved; the student
exhibits unsafe tendencies which could result in safety of flight
violations, flight rule violations, violations of safe operating
practices; the student fails to display the alertness, judgment
and stability commensurate with that normally expected of one at
the student's experience level; or is unsafe for solo.
(a) If an unsatisfactory is awarded
on an extra time
event, other than the final in a series, the
student may continue
with the remaining extra time events, unless
flagrant safety or
flight rule violations, or grossly dangerous
tendencies are
noted.
(b) An unsatisfactory on the final event of a series of
extra time events, or an unsatisfactory for flagrant safety or
flight rule violations, or grossly dangerous tendencies,
precludes further training until authorized by competent
authority.
(4) The student expresses or demonstrates lack of
motivation during the event.
