Introduction to Radio Instruments
3.
Leg length or the outer limit of the pattern in nm if DME vs timing
4.
Altitude
5.
Direction of turns (if nonstandard, pilot request, or controller
considers information necessary)
6.
Expected further clearance (EFC) time
NOTE: Unless a nonstandard pattern is published or
designated by the controller by stating left turns in the
clearance, the pattern is always standard.
NOTE: During entry and while holding, all turns are performed
at 3 degrees per second (SRT), not to exceed 30 degrees AOB.

FAR MAX HOLDING A/S FOR T-45A : 230 KIAS
PROCEDURE A/S: 200 KIAS NOT TO EXCEED
14 UNITS AOA
IN TURBULENCE (NATOPS) : 250 KIAS
HOLDING AIRSPEEDS
B.
Commence slowing to holding speed when within 3 minutes prior to
crossing holding fix at or below max holding speed
1.
T-45A procedural holding speed: 200 KIAS not to exceed
14 units AOA
NOTE: Maximum FAR holding airspeed for the T-45A in
category is 230 KIAS. The NATOPS turbulence penetration
airspeed for the T-45A is 250 KIAS. If situation requires an
airspeed greater than 230 KIAS, request approval from ATC.
Report to ATC once slowing from the higher holding airspeed.
