Engine Start Procedures
CAUTION: If the ROTATION
advisory light does not
illuminate within 15 seconds,
discontinue start attempt,
otherwise mechanical damage
may result from an overheat
condition. A tail wind may
rotate backward.

from IGNITION switch to engine

Throttle - IDLE WHEN RPM BETWEEN
Overlay 4

Throttle to IDLE
a.
Throttle to idle opens throttle shutoff
valve, allowing SIFCU and FCU to
begin metering fuel to engine spray
nozzles
b.
You should see an indication of fuel
flow
c.
Oil pressure warning light should
extinguish at approximately 18%
N2 rpm
NOTE: Light-off is indicated by an
initial rise in EGT.
WARNING: Engine starts with the throttle
above the ground idle position may cause
engine surge/overtemperature.
CAUTION: Advancing throttle to IDLE before
ROTATION advisory light illuminates may
cause damage to the engine from overheat.
