(6) Missed approach instructions
EXAMPLE: “Your missed approach instructions are...”

Must provide on final approach
(1) Communications check
EXAMPLE: “This is Kingsville final controller. How do you
hear?”
(2) Wheels-down check (All controllers)
EXAMPLE: “Wheels should be down.”
(3) Acknowledgment
EXAMPLE: “You need not acknowledge further transmissions.”
(4) Distance to descent point
EXAMPLE: “One mile from descent point.”
(5) Identification of descent point
EXAMPLE: “Descend to your MDA.”
NOTE: Some approaches may have a stepdown altitude restric-
tion higher than the MDA
(6) Identification of MAP
EXAMPLE: “Over MAP proceed visually or execute missed
approach.”
