When is a missed approach required?
ANSWER:
1. MAP or DH reached without visual contact with runway environment
2. Safe landing not possible
3. Directed by controlling agency

MAP on non-precision (ASR) or DH on precision (PAR) approach is
reached without visual contact of the runway environment
COMMON ERROR: Executing missed approach when minimum descent
altitude (MDA) is reached prior to MAP.

A safe landing is not possible
3.
When directed by tower or without clearance to land. Instructed by ATC to
execute a missed approach
4.
When you lose sight of runway environment during a GCA circling
approach maneuver
