d. SNAs awaiting waiver approval for a physical condition may
not be transferred from NAVAVSCOLSCOM to further aviation
pipeline training until such waiver is approved by
NAVPERSCOM/CMC. Student naval aviators (student naval pilots and
student naval flight officers) and student aerospace medicine
specialists who have commenced actual aerial flight training and
subsequently require waiver of physical standards will be
considered under provisions of OPNAVINST 3710.7T and the Manual
of the Medical Department. Where medically indicated, local
boards of flight surgeons may recommend temporary waivers and
issue an aeromedical clearance notice pending final waiver
approval by NAVPERSCOM/CMC. Local boards of flight surgeons
considering temporary medical waivers shall consult with NOMI
(Code 42) prior to recommending such temporary medical waivers.
Within ten working days, the findings of the local board of
flight surgeons shall be forwarded to NAVPERSCOM/CMC, via the
appropriate chain of command and NOMI (Code 42).
e. All applications for physical waivers, along with a
statement prohibiting aerial flight, shall be documented in the
aviation training jacket (ATJ) on CNATRA-GEN 1542/16 and filed on
the left side of the ATJ with Record of Training Waivers.
f. All waivers shall be documented in the
ATJ on the CNATRA
1542/132 (see Appendix A), and a copy of the
waiver filed under
that summary. This includes Aviation Visual
Waiver (AVW)
approval letter from the COMNAVPERSCOM (also
see Appendix A).

202. STANDARDIZED PRIMARY STUDENT AVIATOR WAIVERS. Student
aviators with significant prior flight experience, enrolled in
the Multi-Service Pilot Training System Curriculum, shall receive
a waiver of flight time and curriculum events from the cognizant
squadron commander based upon demonstrated proficiency.

203. SNP PIPELINE ASSIGNMENT CRITERIA. Assignment of SNAs to
Strike, Maritime, E2/C2, E-6, Helicopter, and Tiltrotor courses
is made in accordance with the following criteria:
a. Needs of the Service/Pilot Training Rate. Fleet seat
requirements as modified by Fleet replacement Squadrons and CNATRA
training capacity will dictate the number of students assigned to
each course by month.
b. Student Performance. Student Primary performance is the
second most influential factor in determining the specific course
to which a student is assigned.

c. Student Preference. During the Primary flight syllabus,
students shall indicate pipeline preference by first, second, and
third choices. A student may identify preference for tactical air,
E2-C2s, E-6s, maritime, rotary, and in the case of Marine Corps
students, tiltrotor aircraft on the selection cards. "T" (TACAIR)
represents all fixed-wing carrier aviation, excluding E2-C2. "E2"
(E2-C2) and "E6" represent themselves as exclusive pipeline
