Night Emergency Procedures
e.
Squawk 7700 for 1 minute and perform
an "in the blind" call to safety pilot
f.
Squawk 7600 for 15 minutes
NOTE: Repeat the above procedures
throughout the remainder of the flight.
g.
If able, tune in VOR with voice
capability and listen for possible
instructions
h.
Continue transmitting in the blind and
ensure guard receiver ON
NOTE: It may be that only the receiver
is malfunctioning.
2.
At home field
a.
Make all calls at appropriate places in
the blind
b.
Overfly field above 3,000 ft AGL to
determine duty runway, weather
permitting.
NOTE: Use, if possible, ATIS.
c.
Set EXTERIOR LIGHTS to BRIGHT
and FLASH
d.
Enter normal overhead pattern
e.
After making certain of your interval,
perform a normal break to downwind
f.
Perform a normal approach looking for
green light from tower
g.
If no light observed or waveoff lights
are on, wave off and perform second
approach
