LECTURE NOTES
Emphasize the importance of keeping your hand up
during Plane Captain checks.
1.
Signal Plane Captain to remove chocks
2.
Raise hands above canopy rail and in view
of final checker during entirety of final
check
3.
After receiving move ahead signal:
a.
Hold the brakes
b.
Release the parking brake
(1) Operating parking brake 1.5.1.7.2
(a) To disengage, rotate counter-
clockwise, and release brake
handle
(b) To engage, pull, and rotate
brake handle clockwise
(c) The PARK BRAKE caution
light will illuminate only when
parking brake set and throttle
past about 70% N2 rpm
c.
Ensure rudder pedals are centered
d.
Release pressure on brakes and add a
little power to start forward motion
e.
Slowly move forward. You will only be
taxiing forward about 3 ft
