Engine runup: index finger and middle
finger make circular motion above head in
response to pilot's identical signal
6.
"Wipe out" cockpit: right elbow positioned
in left hand in front of waist while right fist
makes horizontal circular motion above left
hand
7.
Lower flaps: hands in front with palms
together horizontally, then opened from
wrist
8.
Open speed brakes: hands in front with
palms together vertically, then opened from
wrist
9.
Hook down: right fist with thumb extended
downward lowered suddenly to meet hori-
zontal palm of left hand
10. Lower launch bar: right elbow in left hand
at waist level with right forearm vertical;
lowers right forearm
11. Raise launch bar: right elbow in left hand at
waist level with forearm extended; raises
right forearm to vertical
12. Raise flaps: hands together in front of body
with palms open horizontally from wrists,
then suddenly closed
13. Lower 1/2 flaps: hands in front with palms
together horizontally, then opened from
wrist, followed by crossed hands
14. Close speed brakes: hands in front with
palms open vertically from wrists, then
suddenly closed
15. Hook up: right fist with thumb extended
upward raised suddenly to meet horizontal
palm of left hand
