their approximate location and direction of engagement.
ANSWER: Each runway has a short- and long-field E-28 bi-
directional rotary hydraulic arresting gear system located 1250
1750 ft from the ends of the runways. In addition, a uni-
directional E-5 overrun chain system is located 20 ft into the
overrun on each runway EXCEPT RUNWAY 10.

Identify the runways with high intensity Instrument
Approach Lighting at Meridian and the two types of
instrument approach lighting systems.
ANSWER: The LEFT parallel runways 01L and 19L
have high intensity instrument approach lighting systems. The
two systems are the ALSF1 system and the ALSF2 system
(which has many rows of red lights in the last 1000 ft prior to the
runway).
