C.
Back course LOC approach 2.9.4.6.4
Sg 2, fr 7, pg 1
NOTE: The T-45C is not equipped with
automatic reverse sensing equipment which
IABC
would provide a normal sensing display on the
110.1
ADI, HUD, and HSI when executing a back
BC LOC
course LOC. When flying a back course LOC in
this aircraft, the pilot will always experience
D
N
reverse sensing on the ILS displays when the
OFF
back course inbound course to the field is
REVERSE SENSING
selected. In this situation, to correct to course,
Sg 2, fr 7, pg 2
the pilot will have to fly away from the ADI
azimuth deviation needle and HSI CDI course
deviation line. An alternate procedure is to set
IABC
the front course into the HSI. This will induce a
110.1
normal sensing display in the HSI. Caution
BC LOC
should be taken because the azimuth needle on
D
N
OFF
the ADI will continue to display reverse sensing.
REVERSE SENSING
Sg 2, fr 8
CAUTION: DO NOT USE BACK
COURSE SIGNALS FOR
APPROACH UNLESS A BACK
COURSE APPROACH
PROCEDURE IS PUBLISHED
FOR THAT PARTICULAR
RUNWAY AND THE APPROACH
IS AUTHORIZED BY ATC.
Sg 2, fr 9
CAUTION: FALSE GLIDESLOPE
SIGNALS MAY EXIST IN THE
AREA OF THE LOCALIZER BC
APPROACH WHICH CAN
CAUSE THE GS WARNING
FLAG TO DISAPPEAR AND
PRESENT UNRELIABLE GS
INFORMATION. DISREGARD
ALL GS SIGNAL INDICATIONS
WHEN MAKING A LOCALIZER
BC APPROACH.
