establish/maintain localizer course

Use glideslope deviation needle and
HSI DME to monitor progress to
intercept point of ILS glidepath

Procedure
a.
Maintain localizer course
NOTE: The localizer is only 5 degrees
wide vs 20 degrees for a TACAN or
VOR signal. Heading corrections once
ADI-ILS LOC/GS FUNCTIONAL
DISPLAYS
on the localizer should be limited to
+/- 5 degrees from wind-corrected
heading (WCH) to maintain course.
Once established inside the outer
marker (OM), initial heading
corrections should be limited to the
number of degrees off course with
consideration of the known WCH.
b.
Maintain on-speed AOA (verify against
Sg 2, fr 6, pg 2
airspeed) when glideslope pointer/
deviation bar are approaching on
glidepath position
c.
Extend speed brakes at glidepath
intercept
d.
Start clock at FAF
