(2) Function: adjusts pedals to
accommodate leg reach

RUDDER PEDAL ADJUST KNOB
(1) Location: metal strip attached
across center of each rudder pedal
(2) Function: placing feet in the
catapult position (tip of boot under
rudder pedal toe guide) will
prevent inadvertent wheel brake
actuation during catapult launch
WARNING: The toe guide serves only
as a reminder to the pilot of correct foot
positioning for catapult launches.
Failure to maintain correct foot position
throughout the catapult stroke may
result in a blown tire due to inadvertent
brake application.
