(4) CAS BIT can only be initiated with
weight-on-wheels, airspeed less
than 80 KIAS, and FLAPS/SLATS
lever UP. CONTR AUG caution
light illuminates for approximately
120 seconds and then
extinguishes indicating a
successful test
WARNING: Initiating the CONTR
AUG BIT cycles the rudder and
rudder tab. Ensure the CONTR
AUG BIT is completed prior to
taxi or takeoff.
b.
Turn and roll coordination is
mechanized by the ARI and bank
angle feedback functions when IAS is
less than 217 kts (nominal) (and, on
aircraft 163610 and up; also 163600
thru 166609 after T-45A AFC-90, when
half or full flap is selected [full slat]).
Aileron position data are supplied to
the YDC from the aileron position
sensor RVDT. Aileron position data
are used with roll attitude data, AOA
data, yaw rate, and flap discretes to
automatically adjust rudder position at
low IAS. The ARI functions are gain
scheduled with AOA. On aircraft
163610 and up; also 163600 thru
163609 after T-45A AFC-90, the ARI
and bank angle feedback functions of
the low speed control laws are
deactivated when the flaps/slats are
selected up/in. Also, all functions of
the low speed control laws (ARI, bank
angle feedback and yaw damping) are
deactivated for yaw rates exceeding 25
deg/second
c.
Pilot may override yaw damping
system by operating rudder pedals
