GCA Procedures
COMMON ERROR: Using too much AOB for the required
heading changes during the final portion of the approach,
resulting in overshooting the assigned heading. You should use
an AOB that approximates the number of degrees to be turned,
not to exceed 10 degrees AOB during final.
(8) Execute missed approach if runway environment not in sight at
DH
(9) Trim as required throughout the maneuver
c.
Scan
(1) Use level turn scan for turn to final
(2) Use level flight scan prior to glideslope intercept
(3) Use constant rate descent scan (on-speed AOA) for glideslope
COMMON ERROR: Over concern with the VSI and altimeter as
you approach the DH may result in heading drift. On the other
hand, fixating on heading may result in a high rate of descent,
taking you below the DH.
