down to and including 1.5 standard deviations below the squadron
average for a completed phase. Students meeting these criteria
shall have this documented on the pink sheet as described in
paragraph 717. Actions dictated by paragraph 718 shall be
followed after the assignment of an End-of-Phase marginal.
720.
END-OF-PHASE UNSATISFACTORY
(A
a. Students who complete all syllabus events of a phase
involving flight training with a grade greater than 1.5 standard
deviations below the squadron average shall be designated End-of-
Phase Unsatisfactory. It shall be documented on a pink sheet,
CNATRA-GEN 1542/31, and Pink Sheet Summary card, CNATRA 1542/90,
and it shall count as an Unsat/Delinquency towards future
Progress Review Board (PRB) action.
b. Students that finish the Primary Phase of training greater
than 1.5 standard deviations below squadron average shall be
attrited. Students that complete an Intermediate, Advanced, or
T-45TS flight training phase with a grade greater than 2.0
standard deviations below squadron average shall be attrited.
For each such student, the squadron commanding officer shall
process the student for attrition and shall refer the student
directly to the the TRAWING commander for attrition.
c. For each student that finishes Intermediate, Advanced, or T-
45TS flight training with a grade greater than 1.5 standard
deviations but not greater than 2.0 standard deviations below the
squadron average, the squadron shall convene a PRB to determine
whether or not the student should continue to the next phase of
training. The board's recommendation shall be forwarded to the
commanding officer, and CO's endorsement shall be forwarded to
the TRAWING commander for retention or attrition. Decisions to
retain such a student in training or to designate, if the student
is completing an Advanced phase of training (including T-45TS),
shall be approved by CNATRA.
d. Marine Corps student naval aviators Marine Corps student
naval aviators completing advanced flight training with a score
greater than 1.5 standard deviations below the squadron average
shall not be designated without specific approval of
Headquarters, Marine Corps.
