GCA Procedures
(5) Extend speed brakes and adjust
power as required to establish
desired rate of descent when
controller calls On glideslope
(6) Make small vertical velocity
corrections by adjusting power
(7) Make small AOA corrections by
adjusting nose attitude
NOTE: A combination of power
and nose attitude adjustments is
required for a smooth and precise
approach.
COMMON ERROR: Reversing
control of nose attitude and power.
COMMON ERROR: Using nose
attitude to control glideslope.
COMMON ERROR: Using too
much AOB for the required
heading changes during the final
portion of the approach, resulting
in overshooting the assigned
heading. You should use an AOB
that approximates the number of
degrees to be turned, not to
exceed 10 degrees AOB during
final.
(8) Trim as required throughout the
maneuver
c.
Scan
