IP is in the front seat. The IP taxies the aircraft onto
the runway, performs initial runway lineup, and
performs the takeoff until 80 KIAS. At 80 KIAS, the
IP transfers aircraft control to the student pilot under
the hood in the rear cockpit. The student pilot
completes the ITO and after takeoff procedures.
Items in the checklist that cannot be performed from
the rear cockpit are accomplished using challenge/
reply procedures initiated from the rear cockpit.
