Must provide prior to final approach
(1) Specify type of approach
(precision or surveillance)
(2) Runway
EXAMPLE: “This will be a
surveillance approach to runway
three five.”
(3) Location of MAP (surveillance
only)
EXAMPLE: “Missed approach
point is two miles from airport.”
(4) Advisory to perform landing check
(USN/USMC controllers only)
EXAMPLE: “Perform landing
check.”
(5) Minimum of one position
EXAMPLE: “Base leg, nine miles
southwest of airport.”
(6) Missed approach instructions
EXAMPLE: “Your missed
approach instructions are...”
c.
Must provide on final approach
(1) Communications check
EXAMPLE: “This is Meridian final
controller. How do you hear?”
(2) Wheels-down check
EXAMPLE: “Wheels should be
down.”
