At 750 ft AGL and 165 KIAS, continue to
decelerate to reach 160 KIAS at 300 ft AGL
9.
Intercept final checkpoint 1,000 ft from
threshold at 300 ft AGL, and 160 KIAS
(145 KIAS minimum)

Reduce power to IDLE
b.
Raise nose to ease rate of descent
and bleed off excess airspeed, not
below optimum AOA, to land in first
third of runway

LECTURE NOTES
Discuss and emphasize the following:
- When to turn
- Abeam distance at low key. (Students are usually
too wide)
- Configuration changes/speed brake use
- Stress importance of good airspeed control
- FLARE!
