Introduction to Tactical Formation Procedures
T-45A UJPT, ADV, & IUT TFFP-02
8.
Common error for turn away from wingman
a.
Problem: sucked due to insufficient AOB initially, causing
late crossing to inside lead's turn
Corrective action: upon recognition of potentially sucked
position, lower nose, add power, accelerate until on proper
bearing, then raise nose and adjust power to arrive on
bearing at 300 KIAS
B. Uncalled cruise turns
1.
Purpose: to turn the section 90 degrees without the use of radio
2.
Types
a.
Into wingman
b.
Away from wingman
3.
Procedures into and away from wingman 5.7.1.3.4.1.1
NOTE: Except for the signal, the procedure and correctional
techniques for uncalled cruise turns into or away from wingman
are identical to the cruise turns.
a.
Lead: give wing flash in direction of turn and begin
maneuver
b.
Wingman: begin maneuver. Do not give "six clear" call
NOTE: If wingman doesn't recognize wing flash direction,
assume turn away and begin maneuver; otherwise, the
section would be separated and have difficulty getting back
together.
