Lost communication procedures
1.
EFC time received
a.
If holding fix and initial approach fix (IAF) are the same,
leave fix at EFC time
b.
If holding fix and IAF are not the same, leave holding fix at
EFC time and commence approach
2.
EFC not received: Continue on assigned route. Do not hold
but proceed to initial approach fix. Plan arrival at IAF at ETA
NOTE TO THE INSTRUCTOR
The ILS section that follows has been taught to the
E2-C2, ADV, and IUT students and tested in the BIFP
stage. If you have an E2-C2/ADV/IUT class without UJPT
students, you may skip the ILS section and “navigate” to
Segment 13 that begins on page 52. The E2-C2, ADV,
and IUT students will be scheduled an exam that does not
contain ILS questions.
If you have a mixed class that includes UJPT students,
handle the E2-C2, ADV, and IUT students during the
portion of this lecture that deals with ILS topics as you
choose.
