Engine Start Procedures
T-45A UJPT, E2-C2, ADV, & IUT Eng-24
may have been introduced to engine
and will be puddled in bottom of
collector full); prior to attempting to
start, the clear engine procedure must
be performed to prevent risk of hot
start.
(1)
Press (momentary):
(a) Signals start control unit
(SCU) to start GTS
(b) Energizes engine ignition
ENGINE switch (with
IGNITION switch in
NORMAL)
(c) Brings fuel boost switch on
line
(d) Retracts approach idle stop (if
airborne - gear down)
duration of press plus 30 seconds
with weight-off-wheels
(a) Fire when GTS start button
held down
(b) Fire when ECA senses N1
shaft speed greater than
100 rpm and direction of N1
rotation is correct
NOTE: After the GTS start button is
released, the ignition ON period is
automatically started by a logic circuit in
the ECA and terminated by a signal from
