Engine Start Procedures
MOTIVATION
There is nothing more embarrassing than an engine that
will not start due to the pilot not following the correct
procedures; unless it is an engine that has been
damaged on start due to the pilot not following the
correct procedures.
OVERVIEW
In this lesson, we will build on the basic understanding of
engine operation that you gained during Eng-02. You will
identify the location and function of engine starting
controls and indicators, state the start procedures, and
identify acceptable and unacceptable engine starting
indications.
In this lesson, we will be covering:

The purpose, function, and location of engine
starting controls, switches, and indicators

The procedures for starting the T-45A engine as well
as indications during the starting procedure and
starting limitations
*
Unacceptable indications during engine start
