ENGINE switch - START

Engine Start
a.
Spring-loaded detent initiates engine
starting sequence
(1) GTS accelerates to 100%, supply-
ing air to starter (ATS)
(2) Air turbine starter (ATS) rotates N2
shaft
Rotation advisory light illuminates
within 15 seconds
(3) ROTATION advisory light: Indi-
cates that N1 shaft is rotating in
correct direction with shaft speed
>100 rpm and that starting se-
quence may continue
CAUTION: If the ROTATION
advisory light does not
illuminate within 15 seconds,
discontinue start attempt,
otherwise mechanical damage
may result from an overheat
condition. A tail wind may
rotate backwards.
28 VDC essential services power
from ignition switch to engine
(5) RPM should rise rapidly to approxi-
mately 10%
