Following is an example of voice comm that would occur from the middle of a multi-switch
engagement.
Free fighter: “Earl’s Joker”
Engaged fighter: “Roger the Joker, let’s work the bug.”
Free fighter: “Turning in, tally visual.”
Engaged fighter: “Switch, bogey’s switched.”
New Engaged fighter: “Roger, bugout [heading]—left to left.” [bogey acknowledges]
New Free fighter: “Roger bug [heading]—Tally visual. Stealth’s at your right two level.”
Engaged Fighter: “Visual, no joy.”
Free fighter: “Bogey at your right 5, 1 mile, 90 off, no threat.”
Engaged fighter: “Tally-ho—check left 30.”
