a. Upon successful completion of an end of course examination,
the student is allowed to be informed of only the correct answers
to the items that were answered incorrectly.
b. Although different in length, difficulty, and applica-
bility, academic courses are directly supportive of flight
training and therefore count equally toward the overall academic
average. The student's first score for each end of course
examination shall be used to compute the overall academic average
for each phase.
c. Percent scores are intended to reflect how well a student
has accomplished a set of instructional objectives. Navy
Standard Scores measure relative performance among a group of
students against a standardization sample.
(1) For TRAWINGs not yet using the Test Management System
(TMS), one academic conversion table per phase of academic
training shall be generated quarterly for each TRAWING based upon
the last 200 completers. If the TRAWING is using the TMS for all
academic tests, a Navy standard score conversion table is not
necessary, because the TMS system produces a relative score for
each student. For TRAWINGs using the PAR system, the TRAWING
will maintain a conversion table and update it as necessary.

(2) One flight grade conversion table per phase of flight
training shall be generated monthly for each training squadron
based upon grades from all students completing the respective
phase during the previous six months or the last 60 students
whichever number is greater.
(3) Conversion tables shall be as depicted in Appendix E.
d. The grades of the first end of course examination taken,
whether passed or failed, are the only scores entered on the
phase summary form in the student ATJ. In the event of a test
failure, action shall be taken in accordance with Chapter VIII.
The failing scores are recorded on CNATRA-GEN 1542/31,
Unsatisfactory/Delinquency/Incident form (pink sheet).
