mounting screws and ensure reading remains constant. Repeat steps b and c to
ensure the error has been reduced +2'.
e. When error is within these limits perform the console certification
tests as per paragraph 7-13 of reference (b) with particular emphasis on
subparagraph an.

Replace the cover plate and proceed with the survey.
NOTE
Enter all the following readings on the Station Magnetic Worksheet.

Rotate monitor to align cross hairs on azimuth control stake (F).
21. Record the readout of the console on the Station Magnetic Worksheet.
This is the Monitor Readout (Line C).

Enter the station location (Line A) as station F-6.
23.
Turn Power ON-OFF to Power OFF.
24. Disconnect cable W-2 from monitor, carefully without moving tripod;
replace the monitor with the turntable inversion unit installed, unit upright,
set up and reconnect cable W-2 to turntable.
25. Disconnect opposite end of cable W-2 from 1J3 of Console and reconnect to
1J2 of Console.
26. Turn Power ON-OFF to Power ON; Mode Selector to CAL.
Adjust EXC volts to
23.5.
27.
Rotate turntable to obtain 0 degree 00 minutes readout on Console.

Enter this readout as the Inversion Readout (Line D).
29.
Turn Power ON-OFF to Power OFF.
30. Install monitor on second tripod and connect cable W-3 from monitor to
1J3 of Console.
31. Set up monitor over next station at which magnetic readings are to be
taken. Align cross hairs on monitor telescope to the corresponding azimuth
control stake.
32. Turn Power ON-OFF to Power ON.
Mode Selector to MON.
Adjust EXC volts
to 23.5.
33.
Record station Position in Line A on Station Magnetic Worksheet.
