INSTRUCTIONS FOR
STATION MAGNETIC DATA WORKSHEET
Fill in the location of the compass rose being certified, the name of
the observer conducting the survey and the date on which it is being
conducted.
Line A.
Enter the alpha-numerical grid coordinates of the station at which
the readings are being taken. Use a separate vertical column for
each station.
Line B.
Record the time at which the readings are taken.
Line C.
Record the reading from the readout of the MC-2 Console with the
Mode Selector switch in the MON position.
Line D.
Record the reading from the readout of the MC-2 Console with the Mode
Selector switch in the CAL position.
Line E.
Algebraically subtract the value recorded in Line D from the value
recorded in Line C, and enter the remainder in Line E.
Line F.
Algebraically subtract the lowest or most negative value of all of
the Inversion Readouts (Line D) from the highest or most positive
value, and divide the remainder by two. Algebraically subtract this
quotient from the highest or most positive Inversion Readout, and
enter the remainder in Line F of all stations.
Line G.
Algebraically subtract the value recorded in Line F from the value
recorded in Line E, and enter the remainder in Line G.
Line H.
Record the System Error from line C-2 of the MC-2 Magnetic
Certification Sheet in Line H for all stations.
Line I.
Algebraically subtract the value recorded in Line H from the value
recorded in Line G and enter the remainder in Line I.
Line J.
Enter the True Azimuth of the line created by the North and South Hub
markers (Azimuth Control Stakes), as determined by observation of
Polaris or by Triangulation.
Line K.
Algebraically subtract the value recorded in Line I from the value
recorded in Line J, and enter the remainder as the Station
Enclosure (6)
