| BASIC INSTRUMENT PROCEDURES
CHAPTER ONE
To effect recovery from a nose high unusual attitude, the student will recite the procedures in
BOLD below verbatim (word-for-word).
If airspeed is above 120 knots:
Upon the command from the IP or SI to "RECOVER:"
"PCLs - MAX THRUST, AOA - MAINTAIN 5 TO 10 UNITS."
When nose is on or below the horizon AND airspeed is above 150 KIAS:
"ABOVE 150 KNOTS, ROLL RIGHT/LEFT."
As the aircraft approaches a wings-level attitude:
"STOP ROLL."
When the wings are level:
"PULL NOT TO EXCEED LIMITS." (This command will bring the nose back to the horizon.
("Limits" refers to 17 units AOA or 4 Gs whichever occurs first).
As the nose of the aircraft approaches the horizon:
"STOP PULL." (The recovery is complete).
