CHAPTER SIX
There are several noise sensitive areas on the local routes. The OUI will annotate these and
avoid them as necessary as per the instructions in the AP-1B or CHUM. Crossing routes are not
required on VT-86 charts, but solid situational awareness will require familiarity of such
potential hazards.
The following geographically significant points will be used for turnpoints on the VR-1021 and
VR-1024 routes:

DOGHOUSES (LOW-LEVEL)
Low-level "doghouses" filled in with the appropriate data will be used on every chart made in
VT-86 (Figure 6-1). There are doghouse stamps in the chart planning room for student use.
Required doghouse data will include:
Magnetic Course to next turnpoint
MC:
The total leg distance to the next turnpoint to the nearest 1/2 NM
DIST:
Leg time to the next turnpoint to the nearest 6 seconds
ETE:
