destination base. Consider checking
with METRO for present and
forecasted weather at alternate(s)

(1) To receive current altimeter setting
(2) To ensure airfield is at or above
approach minimums
(3) To obtain current winds
(4) To ascertain any abnormal airfield/
runway conditions (e.g., hazardous
RCR) precluding a safe landing
(5) To confirm the active runway, and
to determine applicable approach
and minimums

NAVAIDS - TUNED/IDENTIFIED

Procedure: Select/tune/identify/
monitor
b.
Reason: To ensure correct selection
of safe and reliable recovery navaids
