B. Course deviation indicator (CDI)

Purpose: displays aircraft position right or
left of a selected course

Indications
a.
When CDI is centered, aircraft is on
selected course

b.
Bar moves laterally to indicate if

aircraft is right or left of course
+/-10 degrees (inbound or outbound)
with each dot representing 5 degrees
3.
CAUTION: The CDI is shared by TACAN,
VOR, ILS, and waypoints. CDI display is
dependent on proper management of the
following:

dot are different when using ILS or WYPT
