Display System (HUD)
MOTIVATION
The Head-Up Display (HUD) is the source for flight,
navigation, and weapon system aiming, so you need to
be intimately familiar with its operation.
OVERVIEW
The Head-Up Display (HUD) allows you to perform
essential scan in situations where your eyes must be out
of the cockpit. For VFR navigation, or later
in air-to-air/air-to-ground, you will find the HUD an
invaluable tool in getting the job done.
This lesson covers the components and controls of the
HUD, and interfaces between the HUD and other aircraft
systems.
REFRESHER
The T-45C HUD system is a basic Head Up Display
(HUD).
It provides heading, attitude, altitude, airspeed, AOA, g,
weapons aiming and actual aircraft flight path
information.

Engineering. In this refresher, you'll find out how much
you remember.
