Complete Navigation and Fuel Information Section
Utilize the top line for start/taxi/takeoff fuel. This section of the log contains spaces to record navigation
and fuel information for each leg of flight, plus notes.
Before filling in this section, identify your legs of flight. If there is not sufficient space on your form to put in
all the legs, indicate the NAVAID changeover point (COP) in the NOTES block or use two logs.
Typically, a leg on the flight log is defined as where the jet route turns from one NAVAID to another or
has a heading change of more than 5 degrees. This point is generally indicated on enroute charts by an
x or occurs where a jet route intersects a NAVAID.
Figure 8 shows the entire navigation and fuel information section, which we will now look at a block at a
time.
