Flaps Failure (Flaps fail to extend) 1.8.1.6.11.1,
Sg 3, fr 11
1.8.1.6.11.1.1
Flaps Fail to Extend
1.
Indications
a.
Flap position indicator fails to move when
change in flap position is selected
b.
Visual confirmation that flaps/slats are up
c.
Optimum AOA is increased
2.
Procedures - See NATOPS
WARNING: The aircraft exhibits no natural stall
warning during the approach to stall in the EMER
FLAPS configuration. Stall warning rudder pedal
shakers come on at 21.5 units AOA, closely
followed by the stall at 23-25 units AOA.
Maximum AOA with EMER FLAPS selected is
pedal shaker/tone.
CAUTION: Placing EMER FLAPS switch to the
DOWN position when normal HYD 1 pressure is
available will cause the hydraulic fluid to rapidly
overheat, possibly causing a HYD 1 seal failure
resulting in HYD 1 system failure.
D.
Slats fail 1.8.1.6.15.1, 1.8.1.6.14.2
Sg 3, fr 12
Slats Fail to Extend
1.
Indications
a.
SLATS caution light illuminated
NOTE: Slats are not in the selected position, or
a split slat condition exists, or exceeding
217 kts with flaps/slats selected down.
b.
Visual confirmation of slat position
c.
Aircraft rolls
d.
With split slats or slats up, abrupt roll off with no
stall warning may occur at clean stall AOA
(approximately 25 units)
