4. Other Service Units. Non-Navy units shall request use of the
HLT from CNATRA (N3), by message, info Chief of Naval Operations
(OP-591), Chief of Naval Education and Training (N42), COMTRAWING
FIVE, COMTRAWING SIX, NAS Pensacola, Naval Air Engineering Center,
and NAS DET HLT Pensacola, FL. Requests shall include the extenu-
ating circumstances requiring use of IX-514, the type of aircraft,
number of pilots to be qualified, landings per pilot, and any
necessary amplifying data along with a point of contact for the
requesting unit. Requests should be submitted no less than 45 days
prior to the desired operations, with earlier notification desired.
The Helicopter Control Officer, LSEs, and flight deck crew shall be
provided by the requesting unit. Units unable to provide a
qualified HCO or LSEs shall contact the OIC, NAS DET HLT, to
coordinate HCO and LSE training; DSN 922-8790/8791 (facsimile) or
