Review
Instructor:
Observe and grade the maneuver without
coaching; airborne critique is
encouraged.
Student:
Expected to perform without coaching and
devoid of procedural errors. The level
of performance must warrant progression
to the next stage or phase of training.
Item:
Graded and labeled "R" in the "ID"
column on the ATF.

Non Graded
Instructor:
Observe maneuver; item will be graded
only if performed above average, below
average or unsatisfactorily. Also used
for "optional" items on ATFs that were
not performed.
Student:
Expected to perform the maneuver without
coaching and devoid of procedural
errors. The level of performance must
warrant progression to the next stage or
phase of training.
Item:
Labeled "NG" in the "ID" column on the
ATF. Additionally, instructor must mark
either "NG" or "X" in the grade columns.
An "X" shall be marked only if maneuver
performed above average, below average
or unsatisfactorily.

Did Not Do
Instructor:
A required item on the ATF, which was
not done or completed for various
reasons (i.e., weather, aircraft
malfunctions, etc.).
Student:
A required item that was not completed,
regardless of whether it was Discuss,
Brief, Demonstrate, Introduce, etc.
Item:
Labeled, by instructor, "DND" in the
grade columns on the ATF. An associated
remark is required, stating reason for
incompletion. One incomplete item
constitutes an incomplete event. Not to
