Lead will also coordinate with ATC.

Lead Making a Level Turn Into Wingman
WING - Transition to an instrument scan, reduce power (to enhance nose-tail separation), and
continue to turn to new heading (30 from Lead's heading) while advising Lead and directing
him to roll out.
LEAD - Roll wings level immediately, notify Wingman of your heading, and communicate with
ATC for a separate wingman clearance for either a VFR join-up or separate RTB.
Example of communications:
W:
"(Tactical Call sign)-2, lost sight, Lead roll out" (W continues turn and reduces power)
L:
"(Tactical Call sign) copies, rolling out heading XXX"
"2" (W continues turn to heading YYY, 30 beyond Lead's heading)
W:
W:
"(Tactical Call sign)-2, heading YYY, hack"
L:
"(Tactical Call sign)"
L:
. . . after 30 seconds, "(Tactical Call sign)-2, you are cleared to heading XXX"
NOTE
Lead will also coordinate with ATC.
4.
Lead Making Level Turn Away From Wingman
WING - Transition to an instrument scan, roll wings level immediately and communicate with
Lead. After 30 seconds, turn to cleared heading.
LEAD - Continue turn to new heading (30 from Wingman's heading.) Make applicable
communications (be directive) with Wingman and ATC.
