2. T-2C FAM FLIGHTS
2.1. BRIEF
2.1.1. Prior to brief, the student contacts the IP to determine route of flight and receive any
mission specific instructions. A briefing board is completed to include the following:
2.1.1.1. Type flight (FAM 1)
2.1.1.2. Aircraft call sign (RKT 204)
2.1.1.3. Instructor and student names
2.1.1.4. Brief, T/O, and land times
2.1.1.5. Route of flight (NPA 802, DD-175)
2.1.1.6. Fuel: On board, Joker, and Bingo as required
2.1.1.7. T/O distance for half flap configuration and aircraft weight of 14,000 lbs.
2.1.1.8. Landing distances for half and full flap configurations and fuel weight of 1000 and 3000
lbs.

2.1.2. Additionally, the student has the following available for the brief:
2.1.2.1. VT-86 T-2 Briefing Guide
2.1.2.2. T-2 model
2.1.2.3. Aviation training jacket
2.1.2.4. Two briefing cards
2.1.2.5. A completed DD-175 for the route of flight, regardless of whether it or a stereo route is
actually filed
2.1.2.6. A completed jet card and an extra copy available for the instructor
2.1.2.7. A completed T-2 Open Book NATOPS Test
2.1.3. At a minimum, the student is responsible for the following:
2.1.3.1. Familiarity with T-2 Flight Procedures and checklists, as outlined in this guide.
2.1.3.2. The emergency, instrument, safety and tactics questions of the day.
